Washington (SmartAboutHealth) - The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has come out and named the healthiest city in the U.S. as Burlington, Vermont.
Burlington, Vermont is a city that is very young with an average age of around 37 and lots of college students.
The CDC stated that the city is the healthiest city in the U.S., giving many reasons why.
The most important reason of all though has to do with the health of the population.
The CDC stated that 92% of the population in the city is in very good health.
They often take part in regular exercise such as skiing, snowboarding, biking, etc.
This compares to the unhealthiest city in the U.S., Huntington, West Virginia.
Comparing the two, Burlington, Vermont is younger, has a lower level of the population in poverty, and a higher education level with more college graduates.
