BURLINGTON, Vt. – Junior Marqus Blakely (Metuchen, N.J.) earned his ninth double-double of the year with 17 points and 10 rebounds as the University of Vermont men’s basketball team held off Hartford at home, 71-63 on Monday night. The Cats have now won 14 of the last 15 meetings against the Hawks, as they improve to 18-7 overall and 9-3 in America East play with the win.
Blakely finished 6-for-10 from the floor for his second straight double-double and 24th of his career. Senior Mike Trimboli (Norwalk, Conn.) added 17 points and five assists, while freshman Garvey Young (Washington, D.C.) tallied 10 and matched a career-high with seven rebounds.
