The University of Vermont Catamounts have been snubbed from the 2009 National Invitational Tournament.
After falling to America East Tournament host UAlbany, Vermont's hopes for a post-season appearance were dissolved. Regular season co-champs, Binghamton, will represent the America East in the NCAA tournament facing #3 Duke.
The Catamounts were selected to the NIT Tournament in 2007 and almost pulled off an upset of Kansas State.
Mike Lonergan and team will wait to see if they are selected to either the College Insider Post-Season Tournament of the College Basketball Invitational Tournament.
