Allisa Sheftic shoots a fade away jumper on her career day


WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Vermont Catamounts held the Albany Great Danes to a tournament record 10 field goals and 16.9 shooting percentage from the floor to post a 61-36 victory in the quarterfinals of the America East Women's Basketball Championship hosted by the University of Hartford. Seniors Alissa Sheftic (Essex Junction, Vt.) and Courtnay Pilypaitis (Ottawa, Ontario) each posted double-doubles to lead Vermont. Sheftic scored a game-high 18 points, one shy of her career-high, and added 11 rebounds for her third career double-double and second of the season. Sheftic also registered a career-high four blocked shots in the contest.
