Middlebury lost its showdown with fellow NESCAC power Williams on Saturday, 69-64, the Panthers’ first loss of the season. Middlebury was playing without leading scorer and rebounder Ryan Sharry, a 6-foot-8 forward from Braintree and BC High, who missed a couple of games after being poked in the eye. Middlebury coach Jeff Brown e-mailed to say that he hopes to have Sharry back this weekend for games at Colby and Bowdoin.
