“Corm and the Coach,” the popular morning drive time radio show that thousands of listeners in the Champlain Valley have awaken to for almost 16 years, will come to an end July 2.
Tom Brennan, who retired as the University of Vermont men’s basketball coach in 2005, plans to step down from local radio next month, Steve Cormier, program director at WCPV-FM and co-host of the morning show with Brennan, said Tuesday.
“I can confirm that Tom Brennan will be retiring Wednesday, July 2,” Cormier said.
He said more details will be released Wednesday morning on the “Corm and the Coach” show, which airs on the station also known as Champ 101.3 in Colchester and 102.1 in Randolph. The show airs Monday through Friday 5 to 9 a.m. with “The Best of Corm and the Coach” being available on Saturday mornings.
Brennan will continue to work as an in studio basketball analyst for ESPN, where he was hired in 2005. He signed a three year contract extension in 2007 with the Bristol, Conn.-based sports network.
