The two-time American Basketball Association champion Vermont Frost Heaves will have at least one familiar face in uniform this winter when they move to a new league.
John Bryant, a 6-foot-7 power forward, has signed for a third season with the Vermont team, which has moved to the Premier Basketball League.
Bryant, a key figure in the 2006-2007 crown, played in 27 of the 39 games for the Heaves in 2007-08 before being sidelined in the final weeks with a torn muscle in his right shoulder. He averaged more than 19 minutes a game, six points, 6.6 rebounds, more than one steal and one block per game. He hit 51.5 percent from the floor for the Heaves, which posted a 35-4 record.
Bryant, 25, is the first Frost Heave to indicate he would return.
