The Frost Heaves scrimmaged Johnson St last night in a three period game. First they played two 20 minute halves (College rules) then played a 10 minute (ABA rules) period. As expected the Heaves dominated all periods by doubling up JSC.
I have to hand it to JSC, they played hard and showed a lot of poise and almost had the play of the night, the games only would-be dunk. Bobby Shedd (who can flat out jump) cut down the lane and almost had a powerful two hander on the Heaves front line, only to have it blocked at the last second.
A few Frost notes: A big lack of chemistry was apparent throughout the game, (a lot of new faces on the team) which could explain why the Heaves gave up a second half 13 point lead to the Millrats, and lost 97-92 earlier this week…. None of the notable guards are back from last years team…. Bryant and Hyman weren’t suited up…. Eric Nelson, UVM alumni, is now with the Heaves. It was nice seeing him play again…. Some great new talent, we’ll have to see how the players mesh over time.
