SBRForum.com is reporting that the Atlanta Thrashers agreed to terms with former University of Vermont center Eric Perrin on a multi-year contract.
According to the article, terms were not disclosed, but TSN of Canada is reporting Perrin will make $1.5 million over two years.
Atlanta secured their first post season berth in franchise history last season by winning the Southeast Division title.
Undrafted out of Vermont, Perrin appeared in 82 games with Tampa Bay last season, recording 13 goals and 23 assists. The 31-year-old native of Quebec made his NHL debut with the Lightning in 2003-04, appearing in four regular-season contests before notching one assist in 12 playoff games.
Perrin was the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rookie of the Year in 1994, when he registered 24 goals and 21 assists in 32 games with Vermont. Following his collegiate career, he spent three seasons in the (now defunct) International Hockey League before going overseas to play in Finland.
Before re-signing with Tampa Bay in June 2006, Perrin played for SC Bern of Switzerland in 2005-06.
