A standout player on the Champlain Valley Union high school basketball team was in court Monday to answer to drug charges.
18-year-old Benjamin Brooks pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of cocaine and marijuana. According to court papers, Brooks' father called police last month to say his son had ran away, and that he was using and selling drugs.
Brooks' father told police he believed his son had been using and selling drugs since middle school.
