Harvard is also heading in a new direction. They hired Tommy Amaker a few years ago and he will be able to land great players. There have also been articles written about how they have become very lax with basketball recruiting standards. I realize this is a bad thing overall but it should lead to a more talented player at Harvard and benefit teams playing them. It will increase our chances of having decent RPI's if we play programs with talented players and coaches. It will also help UVM get ready for the conference schedule. Maintaining scheduling relationships with solid programs is a good thing even if those programs go through rough times at times.

Also, Harvard beat Boston College who beat North Carolina this past season. We beat Harvard, so by extension, UVM must be the best team in the country : )

However, while Vermont may be the best team in the country, Maryland can also lay claim to being the best in country as transitive national champions*- while the Terps lost to BC, Maryland was the ONLY team in the nation to beat both NCAA finalists North Carolina and Michigan State

*: Of course, being transitive national champions doesn't earn the coach a bonus or bring the school a nice trophy and banner.

Preston, with all due respect, you actually had one of the weakest schedules in the AE last season.

Only Bing and SB had a weaker SOS

Our schedule would have been the most difficult in the conference if some of our opponents didn't end up struggling late in the year Bosiydid...

On paper our schedule was better than anyone's in the AE (hands down).

Maryland
Pittsburgh
George Mason
Colorado
GW
Colorado State
Delaware
Loyola
Wilmington
Buffalo
Wisconsin Green Bay
Oregon State

I don't think any conference team can put down 12 teams from their schedule this past season that are better (those opponents RPI over over the last 4 years).

I don't believe our strength of schedule rank was our fault. If it was so bad we wouldn't have had a RPI of 92 (2nd highest in conference).

I agree with Preston.

Our OOC schedule was a excellent one for an America East team.
But some of the teams, did not live up to expectations.

Even if we didn't have the best strength of schedule, we had 20+ wins!! You can have as difficult a schedule as you want but if you finish 12-18 at the end of the year, it doesn't mean a damn thing. We had one of the most difficult schedule in AE last season and 20+ wins. I would say that's a pretty good accomplishment and I'd much rather take that then a super difficult schedule and only getting 16 wins.

Does anyone know when the four new recruits arrive on campus? Any and all information concerning these players will be anxiously awaited.
